Sunday – Relatively easy pack up and long hugs with friends before the long trip home. Lingered at camp and took a quick dip and shower in the lovely afternoon sun.

There was a beautiful view of SF on the way into the city over the golden gate. A quick bite down the street to catch up of the NFL, then Cocktails and DVD’s at Dan’s house finished off the weekend perfectly.

There was some great music Sat night. I turned in to get some sleep before my shift. 4am SC shift was pretty tranquil, nothing major, music was ultra chill, and quite enjoyable.

I kinda overdid the taurine-based energy drink, and couldn’t really get to sleep at 7, catnapped until around 11.

Sat. – Great pancake breakfast in the morning, and a lovely afternoon just spent chillin’ on the lawn. My new camera is holding up pretty well. I got some good photos, still working out some good angles, but got some pretty nice macro stuff in the gardens.

Friday – Late start led us to some pretty crushing traffic up north. A friend emailed me a shortcut to bypass a big chunk of the 101 around Santa Rosa, and we ended up dodging a bunch of traffic.

We were still late, though, and ended up getting to the event after dark. I suppose it didn’t really matter anyway, My chilling began as soon as I stepped off the plane in SF. Friday night was the usual gathering of good friends, several great folks, including [info]fr3orb made it down from pdx. Around 3am my body kind of gave up, and I called it a night.

Thurs – It was a mad dash to the airport. Some confusion led to a sweat inducing trot to the next terminal at LAX. However I made it, and my bags did too. Had a fascinating dinner at NOPA on Divisidero in SF.

A woman sitting at the bar next to me was a primary buyer for all the fresh produce. While we ate, she regaled me with all sorts of tales regarding the people and the food at the restaurant. At the end of the meal, we shared a grape sorbet, and she tells me she remembers when the grapes used to make this dish were first planted. It was quite an interesting dinner to share with someone who could trace the food from the earth to the plate.
